4th session of 10th JS prorogued

The 4th session of the 10th Jatiya Sangsad (parliament) was prorogued on Sunday. Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury read out the prorogation order of the President after 10 sittings that passed 7 bills. Leader of the House and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Leader of the Opposition Raushan Ershad gave their concluding speeches before the prorogation of the House. The 4th session of the 10th JS began on November 13. During the 10 working days, 10 bills were placed, of which 7 were passed. Some 500 notices were submitted under Section 71 of the Rules of Procedure, of which 18 were received and six were discussed out of the received notices in the House. Besides, the number of notices under Section 71 (Ka) of the Rules of Procedure was 105. A total of 136 questions were received during the Prime Minister’s question-answer session. Of the total, the PM responded to 17 questions. The 4th session received a total of 2,124 questions for different ministers, while concerned ministers responded to 1,007 questions, according to a news agency.
