5 arrested in Muktagachha

MYMENSINGH, Dec 21 (UNB): Police arrested Sunday five persons, including the prime accused, in a case filed in connection with the snatching of an accused from police custody after stabbing two cops in Muktagachha Upazila.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Muktagachha thana Kamal Hossain said they launched an overnight drive in different areas of the Upazila and arrested Babul Miah, the prime accused in the case, Hablu Miah, Saju Miah, Abdul Miah and Abdul Quddus.
On December 10, in a daring attack on a police vehicle, miscreants snatched Abdullah, an accused in 47 cases, including of murder, at Chanpur village under Muktagachha Upazila, leaving two assistant sub-inspectors of Muktagachha thana hurt.
The injured cops were-Shahinur and Rezanur. SI Shahinur Rahman filed a case against 60 people with Muktagachha thana on the following day.
