5 children drown in districts

A Correspondent HABIGANJ, Oct 27: Two children drowned at Nabiganj Sadar and Purba Vhakair union in Habiganj on Wednesday. They were identified as Daisy (2), daughter of Jamir Miah of Dattagram and Tamanna (2) daughter of Sonabor Miah of Choto Vhakair under Nabiganj upazila of the district. Both children drowned in the ponds near their house. Another report from Khulna adds: A minor boy drowned in a shrimp farm waters at village Bagmara under Rupasha thana of the district Wednesday. Mohammad Ali, son of Abdul Jabbar, aged about 13 months, was playing by the side of a shrimp farm near his house and he fall into the water of the farm while his mother was collecting eggs from her own farm. Another report from UNB adds:Two children drowned in Herachapti River near their house at Kaliarkapon village in Dirai upazila in Sunamganj on Wednesday afternoon. The deceased were identified as Sayma, 7, daughter of Afizul Mia and Rabina, 7, daughter of Ekram Ali of the village. Local people said Sayma and Rabina slipped into the river and drowned at about 1pm when they were playing on the bank of the river. After search, local people found their bodies floating in the river.
