5-day \\\'Bangladesh Fashion Carnival-2014\\\' opens in city

A 5-day international exhibition of branded clothing and fashion products opened in the city on Wednesday. Member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Cultural Affairs Pinu Khan inaugurated the show titled 'Bangladesh Fashion Carnival- 2014', second of its kind, at Emmanuell's Banquet Hall at Gulshan-1. More than 50 companies from home and abroad are participating in the exhibition. Freelancerz & Redcarpet Ltd, an event management firm, is organising the event with the theme 'Do your Eid shopping with us'. 'We're expecting a good number of visitors from entire South and South East Asia in the fashion carnival,' said A Imtiaz, Manager (Business Development) of the event management firm. Imtiaz said the exhibition is targeted to showcase Eid-ul-Fitr shopping items. Referring to the salient features of the carnival, he said it would create an opportunity for both local and foreign participants to display their latest products before potential buyers, resulting in high business transactions. He said this exhibition will also encourage local manufacturers and producers to export their goods giving a big boost to the country's export earnings. An array of quality products will be put on display in this carnival, he added. The products include children's wear, clothing (men/women), fashion wear, home textile, knitwear, kurtas, lawns, premium clothing, readymade garment (RMG)/woven garments, salwar-kameez, 3-piece, shawl, sherwani, wedding dress, beauty aids, beauty products and equipment and leather and leather products. The exhibition will remain open for all from 10am to 9.30pm everyday, according to BSS.
