'BCSICTWORLD-2008', a computer fair, will be held at the Bangladesh China Friendship Conference Centre in the city from November 17 to November 21.
Bangladesh Computer Samity (BCS) in cooperation with ICT Business Promotion Council of the ministry of commerce will organise the five-day event, said BCS president Mustafa Jabber at a press conference Wednesday.
The theme of this year's fair is: 'Towards Digital Bangladesh'.
"The main objectives of the exhibition are to provide the country's computer and IT industry with an overview to develop new alternate sources of supplies, to make new contacts and to discover new opportunities of the sub-sector and capitalise them," said the BCS president.
BCS, the ICT Industry Association of Bangladesh, expected that a large number of national and international companies and organisations will participate in the fair to demonstrate their products and services," said A T Shafique Uddin Ahmed, vice president of BCS and convener of the fair committee.
He also said a total of 65 stalls and 17 pavilions have already been booked for the fair.
There will also be seminars on relevant and recent topics during the fair. Symposiums, product launches, competition and contests will be running side by side with the Showcase of products and services, Mr. Shafique added.
