5-day Rashimony fair begins in Netrakona

NETRAKONA, Feb 1 (BSS): A five-day exhibition titled 'Rashimony Fair' began at Baheratali village under Durgapur upazila of the district on Friday.
Rashimony Memorial and Welfare Trust (RMWT) organised the fair commemorating the incident of shooting down of Rashimony Hajong and Surendra Hajong, leaders of the historic Tongko Movement, by the British occupation soldiers at the village during the British colonial role on Jan 31, 1946.
One of the leading leaders of the movement Kumudini Hajong formally inaugurated the fair at the village.
Presided over by chairperson of the RMWT Kushi Kabir, the inaugural function was addressed, among others, by the RMWT leaders DR. Dibaluk Singh, Swapan Hajong, freedom fighter Abdul Haque and president of Hindu-Buddha-Christian Oikya Parishad Netrakona district unit Advocate Sitangsu Bikash Acherya.
A total of 150 colorful stalls of handicraft products have been set up at the fair venue.
