5-day REHAB fair begins in city tomorrow

FE Report A five-day fair of Real Estate and Housing Association of Bangladesh (REHAB) begins tomorrow at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre. State Minister for Housing and Public Works Abdul Mannan Khan will inaugurate the fair as the chief guest. Minister for Environment and Forest Hasan Mahmud will attend the closing ceremony as the chief guest. "The real estate companies will sell flats, only approved by Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (Rajuk)," REHAB general secretary Murad Iqbal Chowdhury said at a press conference at the National Press Club in the city Tuesday. "If any company violates the rules and sells unapproved flats, it will not be able to take part in the next two fairs. All the participants at the fair had to submit a written undertaking in this regard to the organisation." He said, "This time a team of Rajuk with a magistrate will attend the REHAB fair to inform the customers whether their desired projects are approved or not and answer their various queries." "I urge all the buyers to verify the projects from the Rajuk team before booking," he said. Mr Murad said, "The sector is passing through hard time for the last few years for various reasons like share market debacle and liquidity crisis in the banks." "So we're now trying to attract customers with different offers, suck as high rate of discount, raffle draws and gift on booking, to increase our sales. All the real estate companies will offer discount in the fair," he added. REHAB said 281 real estate companies and two financial institutions -- LankaBangla Finance and Delta Brac Housing -- will take part in the fair. There will be 283 stalls in the five-day fair. The fair will remain open from 2:00pm to 9:00 pm during on the day of inauguration and from 10:00am to 9:00pm rest of the four days. The single entry fee of the fair will be Tk 50 and multiple entry fee Tk 100. Indian singers Haimanti Shukla and Nachiketa will present their numbers in the closing ceremony of the REHAB fair on December 20. REHAB senior vice president Sultana Shaheda Islam, REHAB fair 2011 convenor Rabiul Haque were, among others, present at the press conference.
