5 die as boat capsizes in M\\\'singh

At least five people, including a minor girl, drowned and five others went missing as an overloaded boat sank in Borobilar Beel (water body) at Fulbaria upazila in Mymensingh on Thursday afternoon. The dead are Sumitra Sangma, 12, Rina, 18, Sajeda, 25, Rawshan Ara, 24, and Shahera Khatun, 27. Quoting local people, police said the boat carrying over 30 passengers sank in Borobilar Beel around 1:30pm. Eleven of the passengers went missing following the accident while the rest managed to swim ashore. Later, locals recovered the bodies of the five people, said officer-in-charge of Fulbaria Police Station Anwar Hossain Bhuiyan. He said the boat passengers were returning to Hatilate after receiving VGF rice from Babuganj Bazar. A drive is on to rescue the missings, he added, according to UNB.
