5 drug peddlers held in Rajbari

Detectives in separate drives arrested five alleged drug peddlers, including a woman, from Daulatdia Ferry Ghat area of Rajbari district on Saturday night. The arrestees were identified as Joynal Sheikh, 28, Johurul Islam, 30, Wahidul Islam, 20, Sathi, 40, and Raju, 52. Assaduzzaman, assistant sub-inspector of Goalondo Police station, said a team of DB police conducted a drive in the ghat area and arrested Joynal and Johurul around 12am while they were trading Yaba tablets. Earlier, in the afternoon they arrested Wahidul, Sathi and Raju along with 85 pieces of Yaba tablet from Purabhita area of the upazila. They had long been involved in drug trading, added the ASI, according to a news agency.
