5 get life term for killing fisherman

BAGERHAT, May 22 (BSS): A court here today sentenced five persons to life imprisonment for killing a fisherman at Dublarchar of the Sundarbans under Sarankhola upazila of the district in 2007.
The court also fined them Taka 1 lakh each, in default to suffer another five years of rigorous imprisonment.
District and session judge SM Solaiman pronounced the verdict in the crowded court room.
The convicts are: Joydev Biswas and his brother Mahadev Biswas Ramendranath Rai, Sadhan Biswas of Chuknagar village under Dumuria upazila in Khulna district and Sirajul Islam of Rampal upazila in Bagerhat district.
