5 judges made permanent in HC

Five more judges of the High Court have been made permanent. They are Justice Ashish Ranjan Das, Justice Mahmudul Hoque, Justice Md Badruzzaman, Justice Zafar Ahmed and Justice Kazi Md Ejarul Haque Akondo.The President in consultation with the Chief Justice made permanent these five judges of the High Court Division, a release issued by the law ministry said on Monday. The appointment will be effective from the day of their swearing-in. A circular was issued on the appointment on Monday. Six judges including these five, were appointed as judges of the High Court on June 14, 2012. The other judge is ABM Altaf Hossain. The release did not state anything about Hossain. Supreme Court Registrar AKM Shamsul Islam said the circular was issued on five judges, making them permanent. “We have received papers about the five people. He (ABM Altaf Hossain) has not shown up today,” he said. Hossain’s name would not appear in the cause list from Tuesday until the next order, Islam said, according to bdnews24.com.
