5 killed, 30 injured in Jessore road accident

At least five persons were killed and 30 others injured, as a bus fell into a roadside ditch at Ghadkhali in Jhikargaccha Upazila under Jessore Saturday night. Former UP member Shariful Islam, Imroj, Mintoo, Abbas and an unidentified woman aged about 30 died in the accident. Police said, the Jessore-bound bus from Benapole hit a roadside tree, and plunged into a ditch, as the driver lost control over the steering at about 9pm. Three persons died on the spot, and two others died on way to the Jessore General Hospital. — UNB
