5 killed as truck, pickup van collide in Habiganj

At least five people were killed and two others injured in a road accident in Kamaichora area under Bahubal Upazila in Habiganj district on Monday morning. Of the deceased, two were identified as Binu Miah, 34, and Faruk Miah, 22, inhabitants of Monkuta village under Nasirnagar Upazila of Brahmanbaria. Sub-inspector of Kamaichora Police Outpost, Nannu Miah said a Bahubal-bound truck collided with a Habiganj-bound pickup van around 10:30am. The accident left two people dead on the spot while five more were injured, he added. The injured were admitted to Bahubal Upazila Health Complex where on-duty doctor pronounced three of them dead, the SI said. The bodies were sent to Habiganj Sadar Hospital for autopsy, according to a news agency.
