5 killed in accident in Madaripur

Five people were killed, three of them students, as a bus ploughed through passengers of another bus just as they got down from it in Shibchar upazila town of Madaripur Saturday. Angered over the fatal accident, locals blocked the Dhaka-Kawrakandi-Khulna highway amid a violent protest. The deceased were identified as four-year-old Shakib, son of Badshah Matabbor of Sannasichar area under Shibchar upazila, Arjuda Begum, 40, wife of Dulal, and Halima Akhter, 17, Rehena Akhter, 17, and Imran Hawlader, 18, students of Ilias Ahmed Chowdhury Degree College. — FE News Desk
