5 killed in M\\\'singh road crash

At least five people were killed and three others injured when a pick-up van hit a CNG-run autorickshaw on Mymensingh-Tangail highway at Lengra bazaar in Muktagaccha upazila of Mymensingh district on Monday. Two of the deceased were identified as Tufainna, 70, and Abul Kashem, 72, both hailing from the upazila. Kamal Hossain, officer-in-charge of Muktagaccha Police Station, said the accident took place in the area around 12 pm when the Muktagaccha-bound CNG-run autorickshaw from Kalibazar collided head on with a pick-up van, leaving three of the passengers killed on the spot and five others injured. Of the injured, two died on way to Muktagaccha Upazila Health Complex while the others were admitted to the hospital, according to a news agency.
