5 kms of BD-India border fencing completed

NEW DELHI, Apr 29: Indian Home Minister P Chidambaram Friday said that along India-Bangladesh border five kilometres (kms) of fencing and 11 kilometres of road works were completed in April under phase II of a project. "Four kms of fencing were replaced in April, 2011 under phase III of the same project," he said at a press conference at the Press Information Bureau auditorium Friday. He further stated that poles for floodlighting were erected on a length of 20 kms and cables were laid on seven kms stretch during the same month. - UNB
