5 of a family burnt in Ibrahimpur fire

Five members of a family sustained burn injuries in a fire at South Ibrahimpur under Kafrul Police Station in the city on Monday. The injured were identified as Joynul Abedin, 40, his wife Piyara Begum, 35, their daughter Khadija Begum, 17, and two sons Robiul, 11, and Rabbi, 9. Sheikh Abul Bashar, official of Mirpur Fire Service and Civil Defence station, said an explosion took place apparently from an electric short circuit in a tin-shade house near Al-Amin Mosque at Kafrul around 2:30am, injuring five inmates of the house. The injured were rushed to the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) around 3:30am. Inspector Mozammel Haque, in-charge of DMCH police camp, quoting injured Joynul said the members of the family were asleep when the explosion happened, according to UNB.
