5 RMG workers injured in boiler explosion

At least five garment workers have been injured in a boiler explosion in a factory at Khagan under Savar Upazila in Dhaka district. Witnesses said an explosion took place in a boiler at Simtrex – a readymade garment (RMG) unit around 2pm on Saturday, leaving five workers of the factory injured. Three among the injured – Monirul Islam, 25, Anwar Hossain, 23, and Al-Amin, 20 – were rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in critical condition. Imran Hossain, General Manager of the factory confirmed the incident, according to a news agency.
