5 Rohingyas, 1 Bangladeshi held

Detectives have arrested five Rohingya women and a Bangladeshi man in Pabna district. They went to Pabna to get Bangladesh passports. They were arrested at the passport office premises in Chhatiani in Pabna town on Tuesday afternoon, Pabna Detective Branch police OC Kazi Haniful Islam said. He said, being tipped-off, a team of detectives raided the regional passport office and held them. The arrestees have been identified as ‘Sakhina’, 22, ‘Fareza’, 25, ‘Jasmine’, 23, ‘Humayara’, 22, and ‘Samira’, 20. All of them are from Myanmar’s Arakan state. Arrested Ilias Hossain, who accompanied the Rohingya women to Pabna, is the agent of a Chittagong-based travel agency. He is a resident of Cox’s Bazar’s Islambad union, according to a news agency.
