5 shops gutted in Noakhali fire

At least five shops were gutted by a fire that broke out at Fakirhat at Senbagh Upazila in Noakhali early Tuesday. Locals said the fire originated from an electric short circuit at a fuel oil shop in the area around 2:15am and it soon engulfed four other adjoining shops. On information, a fire fighting unit from Choumohoni rushed to the spot and doused the blaze after one hour of frantic efforts. Five shops, including sanitary and grocery, were gutted by the fire. The affected shops owners claimed that the extent of losses from the fire would go up to Tk 0.5 million, according to UNB.
