5 to walk gallows for murder in Gopalganj

A court here on Thursday sentenced five people to death and acquitted six others in connection with the killing of a man in Moksedpur Upazila in Gopalganj district in 2006, reports UNB.
Dhaka Speedy Trial Tribunal-3 Judge ABM Sazedur Rahman pronounced the verdict.
The condemned convicts are Lelin Shikdar, M Monir Hossain, M Swapan Mollah alias Dalim, M Obaidur Sheikh and Tapan Quazi.
No one of the convicts, except M Obaidul Sheikh, was present on the dock when the verdict was delivered.
Those who were acquitted are Mokarram Shikdar, M Rezaul Quazi, Sheikh Roni Ahmed, Wahedul Mian, M Farid Mina and Ahsan Quazi. They were acquitted of the charge of murder as the prosecution failed to prove any specific allegation against them.
