50 houses gutted

Another message adds: At least 50 houses gutted in a devastating fire that broke out at Hanumantala slum area in Rangpur town Monday. Locals said the fire originated from electric short circuit at a house which soon spreaded to adjacent houses. On information, the fire fighters rushed to the spot and extinguished the blaze. The estimated loss stood at Tk over 6 million. Deputy Commissioner of Rangpur BM Enamul Haque visited the area and assured the victims of help.
