500 BNP, Jamaat activists sued in Lalmonirhat

LALMONIRHAT, Jan 10 (BSS): A case was filed against over 500 leaders and workers of BNP and Jamaat, including former deputy minister Asadul Haque Dulu Friday night.
Local BNP leaders called a press conference at district BNP office at 11.00am Saturday to protest filing of the case. Sensing the arrival of police the BNP leaders left the venue without concluding the press conference to evade arrest.
Later, they declared a dawn-to-dusk hartal Sunday from an undisclosed place to protest filing of the case against BNP-Jamaat activists.
The BNP-Jamaat activists were not seen on the streets during the blockade hours. Public life and movement of traffic in the district remained normal.
