Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI) Manager Abul Fazal Md Shahabuddin Khan told bdnews24.com on Saturday, "The typhoid vaccine will be given in two phases. In the first phase, students will be vaccinated in school-based camps during the first 10 working days of September.
"Those who miss the first phase will be able to get vaccinated at EPI centres during the next eight days.
"This vaccine, supplied by the Gavi Vaccine Alliance, will be given in a single injection, which will provide protection for 3 to 7 years.
"The vaccines have been purchased from India. All the vaccines have already arrived.
"The vaccines are made according to the standards of the World Health Organization. This vaccination has started in a few other countries in our subcontinent, except Nepal and Pakistan."
