52nd death anniversary of Sher-e-Bangla Sunday

The 52nd death anniversary of Sher-e-Bangla AK Fazlul Haque will be observed Sunday with due respect.
Various socio-political organisations, including Awami League, BNP and Dhaka University, have chalked out elaborate programmes to mark the day, according to a news agency.
The programmes include placing wreaths and offering fateha at the grave of the great leader, milad and discussions in the city and elsewhere across the country.
AK Fazlul Haque died on April 27 in 1962.
AK Fazlul Haque held different political posts, including those of the mayor of Kolkata (1935), chief minister of undivided Bengal (1937-1943) and East Pakistan (1954), home minister of Pakistan (1955) and governor of East Pakistan (1956- 58).
Meanwhile, President Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia have issued separate messages on the occasion.
