
53 entities get ICMAB Best Corporate Award

The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) recognised recently 53 listed and non-listed organisations in 17 categories for their best corporate practices based on financial parameters and non-financial indicators, said the ICMAB in a statement.
Winners of the ICMAB Best Corporate Award 2022 were recognised with gold, silver and bronze positions.
A Jury Board chaired by Prof. Dr. Mohammed Farashuddin, Former Governor of Bangladesh Bank, and Mohammed Nurul Amin, Former Managing Director & CEO of Meghna Bank Ltd, reviewed the approved list of winners, which was evaluated and recommended by 40 expert members of the evaluation team of the Institute.
Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi was present as chief guest and handed over the awards to the winners at a ceremony in Dhaka on the occasion.
Tapan Kanti Ghosh, Senior Secretary, Ministry of Commerce, Professor Shibli Rubayat-Ul-Islam, Chairman, Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC), and Dr. Md. Hamid Ullah Bhuiyan, Chairman, Financial Reporting Council (FRC), were the special guests.
Arif Khan FCMA, Chairman of the Corporate Award Committee and past President of the Institute, delivered the welcome speech, while Md. Abdur Rahman Khan FCMA, President of ICMAB, delivered the presidential address.
Secretary of the Institute, Md. Kausar Alam FCMA offered the vote of thanks.
Winners of ICMAB Best Corporate Awards:
In the nationalised commercial bank category, Sonali Bank PLC became the Gold position winner, Janata Bank PLC became the Silver position winner and Agrani Bank PLC the Bronze position winner.
In the Private Commercial Bank category, Eastern Bank PLC secured the Gold position, BRAC Bank PLC the Silver position and The City Bank PLC the Bronze position.
In the Private Commercial Bank (Islamic Operation) category, Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC won the Gold position, Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC the Silver position and Export Import Bank of Bangladesh Limited the Bronze position.
In the Non-Bank Financial Institution (NBFI) category, IDLC Finance Limited won the Gold position, IPDC Finance won the Silver position and Infrastructure Development Company Limited (IDCOL) won the Bronze position.
In the General Insurance category, Pioneer Insurance Company Limited won the Gold position, Green Delta Insurance Company Limited got the Silver position and Sena Kalyan Insurance Company Limited and Reliance Insurance Limited jointly won the Bronze position.
In the Life Insurance category, National Life Insurance Company Limited secured the Gold position, Pragati Life Insurance Limited the Silver position and Sandhani Life Insurance Company Limited the Bronze position.
In the Pharmaceuticals Manufacturing category, Square Pharmaceuticals PLC won the Gold position, Reckitt Benckiser (Bangladesh) PLC won the Silver position and Renata Limited won the Bronze position.
In the Cement Manufacturing category, LafargeHolcim Bangladesh Limited secured the Gold position, Heidelberg Cement Bangladesh Ltd. the Silver position and Premier Cement Mills PLC the Bronze position.
In the Garments-Textile manufacturing category, Square Textiles PLC won the Gold position, Matin Spinning Mills PLC the Silver position and Paramount Textile PLC the Bronze position.
In the MNC Manufacturing category, British American Tobacco Bangladesh Company Limited won the Gold position, Marico Bangladesh Limited won the Silver position and Unilever Consumer Care Limited the Bronze position.
In the Other Manufacturing category Bangladesh Steels Re-Rolling Mills Limited got the Gold position, RAK Ceramics Bangladesh Limited the Silver position and Shinepukur Ceramics Limited the Bronze position.
In the Power Generation category, United Power Generation & Distribution Co. Limited got the Gold position, Summit Power Limited got the Silver position and Doreen Power Generations and Systems Limited the Bronze position.
In the Oil, Gas & Energy category, Meghna Petroleum Limited became the Gold position winner, MJL Bangladesh PLC and Jamuna Oil Company Limited jointly became the Silver position winners and Padma Oil Company Limited the Bronze position winner.
In the NGO category BRAC got the Gold position, UCEP-Bangladesh got the Silver position and Action Aid- Bangladesh the Bronze position.
In the Agro & Food Processing category, Olympic Industries Limited got the Gold position, Index Agro Industries Limited the Silver position and ACI Formulations Limited the Bronze position.
In the Trading & Assembly category, Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC secured the Gold position, Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company Limited (BSCCL) the Silver position and Runner Automobiles PLC the Bronze position.
In the IT & Telecommunication category, Grameenphone got the Gold position, Robi Axiata Limited the Silver position and IT Consultants Limited the Bronze position.
