54 UISCs receive solar panels in Chandpur

A total of 54 solar panels along with their accessories were distributed among the trained staffs of 54 union information and service centres (UISCs) in 8 Upazilas of Chandpur district. On this occasion, the district administration arranged a function at Chandpur Circuit House on Monday afternoon with Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md Nurullah Nuri in the chair. Rural Poverty Alleviation Foundation, Jatiya Palli Unnayan Samabaya Federation and Cooperatives Ministry are jointly implementing the project with a view to rendering services and benefits of the digital systems to the rural people near their homes. Deputy Commissioner Ismail Hossain handed over a solar panel, one battery (12-volt), solar fan (12-volt), one piece of LID-light for each information centre in all the 54 unions across the district. Prior to this, a training on ‘How to operate and handle the solar system’ was imparted to the staffs of the information centres at the same venue. ADC Md Nurullah Nuri inaugurated the training session, according to a news agency.
