54,412 get primary scholarships

A total of 54,412 students have got scholarships in Primary School Certificate examinations. Among them 21,978 students have been selected for talent-pool scholarships and 32,434 for general scholarships. Minister for Primary and Mass Education Mostafizur Rahman announced the list of those awarded the scholarships at a press conference at his Secretariat office in the city on Sunday. The list was prepared on the basis of results of PSC examinations. A total of 2483,142 students out of 25,19032 sitting for the test cleared in 2013. Each student selected for the talent pool would receive a monthly scholarship of Tk 200 – and those who were picked up for the general scholarships will get Tk 150. In addition to their monthly stipend, all scholarship holders will get Tk 150 once a year. The results will be available on the Directorate of Primary Education website www.dpe.gov.bd. Last year 54,530 students got these scholarships – 21,980 in talent pool and 31,468 in the general category, according to bdnews24.com.
