548 killed in May: BHRC

The month of May saw at least 17 murders on an average every day as 548 people were killed across the country during the period, said a Bangladesh Human Rights Commission (BHRC) report, reports UNB.
The report was prepared based on newspaper reports and internal surveys conducted by the BHRC's branches.
Of the deaths, the report said, a total of 291 people were killed in road accidents, 99 in violence, 48 in family feuds and 37 in mysterious incidents, 22 in secret incidents and 13 killed after abduction.
One of the victims was a journalist, said the report adding that three people were killed by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) while seven committed suicide.
