55-km tailback on Dhaka-Ctg highway

A 55-kilometre long unusual tailback was created on Dhaka-Chittagong highway following a road accident at Doulatpur in Daudkandi upazila of Comilla on Tuesday. The accident disrupted traffic from Meghna-Gomti Bridge to Paduar Bazar in Comilla Sadar Dakkhin upazila, causing immense sufferings to the commuters, especially patients inside ambulances. Sohel Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Moynamati Highway Police Station, said a truck and a covered van collided head-on at Daulatpur in Daudkani upazila around 1:30am on Tuesday, according to a news agency.
