56 BDR-run markets in city before Ramadan

Thursday, 5 July 2007

The government is planning to set up 56 BDR-controlled markets in the city to keep the prices of essentials stable prior to Ramadan. "The prices of the essentials will come under control once the markets are opened," LGRD, Rural Development and Cooperatives Adviser Anwarul Iqbal told the reporters Wednesday. Out of the 56 markets, six will be wholesale markets, and 50 will be retail markets. -- bdnews24.com
