56th anniversary of China revolution celebrated

Bangladesher Sammyobadi Dol (ML) organised a programme Sunday in the city on the occasion of 59th anniversary of the China revolution and 30th anniversary of the country's reforms programme.
Chinese Ambassador in Bangladesh Zheng Qing Dian spoke at the programme as the chief guest with Dilip Barua, secretary general of the party, in the chair.
Hailing the Chinese citizens on the occasion, Dilip Barua said China has already become the third economic power with about 10 per cent GDP growth due to the economic reforms taken since 1989.
Former Army chief Lt Gen. (retd) Mahbubur Rahman, Workers' Party president Rashed Khan Menon, presidium member of Bangladesh Awami League Abdur Razzak, Dhaka city mayor Sadek Hossain Khoka also spoke on the occasion.
Vice chairman of BNP M K Anwar, CPB president Manjurul Ahsan Khan, CPB general secretary Muzahidul Islam Selim, JSD president Hasanul Huq Inu, and the party's executive president Mainuddin Khan Badal, among others, were present at the programme.
