576 Bangladeshis on Tunisian border waiting for repatriation

Some 576 Bangladesh nationals are waiting at Ras Jdir border point of Tunisia for repatriation, reports UNB.
On Sunday, 11 Bangladeshis entered Tunisia. Ministry's consular team at Ras Jdir has been receiving frequent calls from a good number of Bangladeshi families from different cities of Libya seeking advice about their return home.
The consular team is advising them to take a safe route to Ras Jdir and is coordinating their entry time into Ras Jdir with the available flights, said a Foreign Ministry press release.
A Bangladesh national arrived at Al Salloum border point on Sunday. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs' (MoFA) consular team has been asked to stay at this border point to facilitate repatriation arrangements of Bangladesh nationals who cross over into Egypt.
One Bangladesh national still remains missing at Hania, Crete Island.
As reported earlier, 8 Bangladeshis arrived at Corfu Port in the western end of Crete Island. Bangladesh Embassy in Athens will arrange their repatriation after identification.
So far, there is no casualty of any Bangladesh national from the shipwreck near Lampedusa. A total of 51 persons have been rescued out of whom one is a Bangladesh national named Saiful Alam, aged 29.
A total of 34,867 Bangladeshis who were employed in Libya, have been repatriated to Bangladesh until Monday. Of them, 3,832 people have returned on arrangement made by their employers while 27,070 persons have been repatriated under the coordination of the International Organization for Migration (IOM). Of the total repatriates, 3,965 availed of Bangladesh Biman flights.
