5th Berger award-giving ceremony held

A number of architects received the 5th Berger Award for Excellence in Architecture at a ceremony held at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in the capital Friday. The winners were declared from among the participants in two categories --Berger Architects Award and Berger young Architects Award having two sub categories- residential and non-residential. Salauddin Ahmed won the Berger Architects Award in residential category while Patrick 'D Rozario, Selim Altaf Biplob and Tamanna Sayeed jointly won the Award for non-residential category. The Young Architects Award was jointly won by Shahnawaz Khan, Rumana Chowdhury and Shemsuddin Ahmed in residential category, said a press release. Berger has been arranging the competition once every two years since 2003 to encourage local architects.
