6 arrested in Maghbazar triple murder case

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Friday night and early Saturday arrested six criminals in connection with the sensational triple murder case at Maghbazar in the capital on August 28, report agencies.
They were arrested from Motijheel in the city and Munshiganj districts along with two pistols, six rounds of bullet and three sharp machetes.
The arrestees are: Al Amin, 25, Md Saifullah Siam, 24, Md Ramjan Ali, 20, Md Rubel Mia alias Sanny, 25, Maruf Hossain, 26, and Md Shaheen Laskar, 25.
Acting on a tip off, a squad of RAB-3 arrested Al Amin from Munshiganj on Friday night, said media wing director of RAB Mufti Mahmud Khan at the forces headquarters.
Following information extracted from Amin, RAB members arrested Siam and Ramzan along with two pistols and six rounds of bullet from Motijheel T&T Colony slum around 12.30am today, he said.
They later arrested Rubel, Maruf and Shafin from the same slum around 12.45 and recovered three chapattis from their possession, he also said.
During preliminary interrogation, all the arrestees confessed their involvement in the triple murder, he added. Of the six, only Ramzan was an accused in the case. But, RAB claimed that five others also took part in the murder.
A gang of criminals shot dead Ranu Akhter, 30, Billal, 28, and Munna,25 and injured Hridoy, (22), bother of Ranu, on August 28 .
Ranu's elder brother Shamim alias Kala Chan filed a case accusing 14 persons including local criminal Kala Babu as main criminal with Ramna Police Station in this connection.
The triple murder took place flowing rivalry between Kala Chan and Kala Babu over a four-room tin-sheet house on railway land.
Kala Babu, main accused in the triple murder case was killed in a recent gunfight with police in the capital.
