6 BGB men hurt in Cox’s Bazar blast

At least six members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) were injured following a blast at a programme at BGB-17 headquarters in Cox's Bazar on Sunday afternoon. However, State Minister for Home Asaduzzaman Khan, who was the chief guest of the progamme, and some senior government officials narrowly escaped the accident. Witnesses said the explosion occurred with a big bang when some BGB members set fire to the contraband drugs to destroy those around 1:30 pm, leaving six BGB men critically injured. The BGB men recovered the drugs in separate drives conducted at various places in the district. The injured were jawans Habibullah , Faizul Kabir, Belayet, Milon Kanti, Sajib and Jahid, according to UNB.
