At least six cattle were burnt alive as miscreants set fire to a house belonging to a Hindu family at Raiganj upazila in Sirajganj district on Sunday. House owner Achintya Kumar said a group of people torched the cowshed of his house at Dhaljan Chakpara village on Saturday midnight and left the place. Hearing his screams, local people rushed to the spot and doused the blaze after several hours of frantic efforts. Later, they recovered the charred bodies of six cattle. Two people — Sabita Rani and Ajit Kumar — were injured while they were extinguishing the flame. They were admitted to a private clinic, according to UNB.
