6 cops hurt in attack in Ctg

At least six policemen were injured in an attack by some villagers during their drive to nab an accused at South Kanchannagar village in Fatikchhari upazila early Wednesday. Quoting witnesses police said a team of police led by SI Shafiqul Islam of Fatikchhari Police Station conducted a drive in a house at Boro Tilagarh area in the village to nab an accused around 2:30 am. Sensing the presence of the law enforcers, the relatives of the accused called local people over phone seeking their help to save them from robbers’ attack. Later, villagers rushed in and attacked the police team, leaving five policemen injured.
