6 currency forgers arrested in city

Detectives arrested six suspected members of a counterfeit money syndicate and seized forged currency notes worth about Tk12 million from Mirpur area of Dhaka city on Monday night. The law enforcers also recovered various tools used in producing fake notes from their possession. Muntasirul Islam, Deputy Commissioner (media) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police said, tipped off members of the Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested the six suspected members of counterfeit money syndicate in the city’s Mirpur area at night. Identity of the arrestees could not be known immediately, according to a news agency.
