6 drug runners arrested

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and police in separate drives arrested six alleged drug traders and recovered two kilograms of hemp and 135 bottles of Phensidyl syrup from different areas of Benapole union at Sarsa Upazila in Jessore on Friday night. The arrested are Ramzan Morol, 38, son of Nazrul Morol, a resident of Bhabarber village of Benapole, Mahiuddin, 23, son of Sahab Uddin, a resident of Shikarpur village under Port thana, and Shahidul, 40, son of Romej Morol, a resident of Beneali village of Jhikargachha Upazila of Jessore, Bipul Biswas, 35, son of Iman Ali, a resident of Shailkupa upazila of Jhenidah district, Shila Begum, 22, wife of Jahangir Hossain, a resident of Goura village of Banapole, and Sabrina Begum, 25, wife of Matlab, a resident of Raghunathpur village. Being tipped off, BGB members and the port police conducted separate drives in two different areas and arrested them. They also recovered 2 kgs of hemp and 135 bottles of contraband Indian syrup from the arrestees, according to UNB.
