6 held over Keraniganj multiple murders

Police arrested 2 prime suspects in Keraniganj 4 murders and 4 others from Munshiganj and Gazipur districts on Friday. The two prime suspects are Sumon and Jonny. Four members of a family – Saju Ahmed, 35, his wife Ranju Begum, son Imran, 6, and daughter Sanjida, 2, of Kharija Banji village in Debiganj Upazila of Panchagarh district – were found dead at their residence in South Keraniganj in the outskirts of Dhaka city on Wednesday morning. Tipped off, a special team of Dhaka district police conducted simultaneous drives in different areas of Dhaka city and its surrounding districts and arrested the 6. Sources at the district police said Jonny was arrested from his home at Kathalbari village in Srinagar Upazila in Munshiganj district around 3:00am while Sumon from a house at Mirzapur Bazar in Gazipur district around 4:30am. Police also arrested 4 other suspects in the 4 murders but did not yet disclose their names, according to UNB.
