6 Jamaat-Shibir men arrested in Habiganj

Detectives arrested six leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir from Singhagram in Lakhai upazila of Habiganj district on Friday. Lakhai upazila unit Shibir president Shariat Ullah, 25, was among the arrestees. Sudwip Roy, sub-inspector of the Detective Branch (DB) of police said, tipped off a team of DB police conducted a drive in the area and arrested the six while a group of people, including them, was holding a secret meeting, according to a news agency.
