6 Jamaat-Shibir men arrested in Pirojpur

Police in a drive arrested six activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir from Namajpur area in sadar upazila of Pirojpur district on Saturday. The arrestees were identified as Rakibul Islam Tanvir, Ismail Molla, Nakib Billah, Shamim Hasan, Abdullah Al Masud and Shakib Hosaain Jahid, hailing from different upazilas of the district. Being tipped off that some Jamaat-Shibir men were holding a clandestine meeting in the house of one Salam Mollah of the area, a team of police led by Mashimur Rahman, officer in charge of sadar Police Station, conducted a drive in the house around 11:10am and arrested them. They also seized some Jihadi books from the house, according to a news agency.
