6 kg gold seized at Shahjalal: 1 held

Customs Intelligence officials on Tuesday afternoon recovered gold weighing 6 kilograms (kg) at Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) International Airport in Kurmitola in Dhaka. Customs Joint Commissioner Kazi Mohammad Ziauddin said six gold bars were recovered from a passenger. ‘Six gold bars found with Tanjilur Rahman, 26, who landed Dhaka by a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight from Rome,’ said the Customs Joint Commissioner. ‘The bars weighing 6 kg each were found in his luggage. The estimated market value of the seized gold is around Tk 30 million,’ said Mohammad Ziauddin. Tanjilur Rahman has been arrested, he added, according to bdnews24.com.
