6 killed, 15 hurt in two road crashes

At least six persons were killed and 23 others injured in two separate road accidents in Khulna and Chittagong Tuesday morning, reports UNB. Five people including an agriculture officer were killed and 15 others injured as a bus overturned after hitting an autorickshaw at Sarua Bazar in Dumuria Upazila this (Tuesday) morning. The deceased were identified as Digholia Upazila Agriculture Officer Bidhan Kumar Rai (35), bus driver Babu (40), Moyna (35), wife of Joydev and their son Koushik(4), and Morjina (25). Police said a Fultola-bound bus from Rupsa hit a three wheeler auto-rickshaw when its driver lost control over the steering and skidded off the road, leaving four bus passengers dead on the spot and injuring 16 others at around 10:30 am. One injured person succumbed on way to hospital. The injured were taken to Khulna Medical College Hospital. On information, police recovered the bodies and sent those to hospital morgue for autopsy. Meanwhile, a Rider (human hauler) helper was killed and eight passengers were injured as the vehicle turned turtle when the driver lost control over the steering at Muradpur in Panchlaish Tuesday morning. The deceased was identified as Mohammad Sumon (25), son of Shahid Ullah of Monohorganj in Comilla district.
