6 Sensex cos lose Rs 18.7b in market value

NEW DELHI, May 4 (PTI): Six top Sensex companies lost a combined Rs 186.99 billion in market valuation last week, with energy major Reliance Industries taking the biggest hit.
In a week when the benchmark Sensex fell 1.25 per cent, six of the top 10 companies, including ITC, Coal India and State Bank of India, had their market capitalisation (m-cap) eroded, while TCS, ONGC, Infosys and HDFC gained.
The m-cap of RIL plunged Rs 61.65 billion to Rs 3000.50 billion, the biggest loss among the top-10 firms.
Coal India's market cap declined by Rs 28.74 billion to Rs 1866.48 billion, while the value of SBI fell by Rs 27.89 billion to Rs 1527.33 billion and ITC lost Rs 27.44 billion to Rs 2705.27 billion in value.
