6 to die for Siddhirganj murder

A court in Narayanganj has sentenced six people to death and one to life imprisonment for killing businessman Md Rafik Bhuiyan in 2009. Narayanganj Additional District and Sessions Judge Mamunur Rashid announced the verdict on Monday. Those given the death sentence are ‘Masum’, ‘Swapan’, ‘Nazmul’, ‘Aminul’, ‘Sazzad’ and ‘Zakir’. These men had taken Bhuiyan away from his home on Jun 3, 2009. His body was found floating in a lake the next day, the case details reveal. The victim’s brother Ratan Bhuiyan had filed a case of murder, accusing seven people, according to bdnews24.com.
