6 units of Ashuganj power station resume operation

Six out of seven units of Ashuganj power station resumed operation after several hours of shut down Tuesday night. All the seven power units with 730mw generation capacity were shut down following fire in a transformer at about 8:00 pm Tuesday. The transformer had exploded and caught fire in it forcing closure of all the seven units. The other unit is undergoing maintenance work. — UNB
