60 houses gutted by fire in Nilphamari

NILPHAMARI, Dec 23 (UNB): At least 60 houses were gutted by a fire that broke out at Satoalpara village in Sadar upazila on Monday evening.
Station manager of Nilphamari Fire Service Emdadul Haque said the fire originated from a stove at the kitchen of the house of Hutum Ali around 7pm and it soon effulged the adjacent establishments of 30 families.
On information, a firefighting unit rushed in and doused the blaze after one and half hours of frantic efforts with the help of locals.
The extent losses caused by the fire were estimated at Tk 15 million, Emdadul Haque added.
