600 kgs illegally procured honey recovered

Our Correspondent KHULNA, Oct 27: Mongla coast guard recovered 600 kilogram honey from Dhangmari area of Sundarban that was illegally procured evading revenue. But none was arrested in this connection. Lt. M Hasanuzzaman, staff officer of Coast Guard west zone said that on a secret information it conducted a drive at Dhangmari area. The honey collectors however gone away into the forest leaving behind the boat. The recovered honey was handed over to the forest department. Robbery at ex-BCL leader's house in Sylhet SYLHET, Oct 27 (UNB): Robbers looted valuables worth about Tk 0.05m from the residence of a former leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) in the city early Wednesday. Jaglu Chowdhury, former president of district unit BCL, said 45 bandits wearing half pant entered his Subid Bazar two-storey house by cutting window grills late at night and looted cash and valuables at gunpoint. Receiving information, airport thana police visited the spot. A case was filed. Police said they were conducting drives in different areas of the city to nab the robbers. Man gets life term for murder A court in Sylhet on Wednesday convicted a man and sentenced him to life term imprisonment in a murder case. The convict Foyez Ahmad, son of Abdul Mannan of Dattapara area of the city was tried in absentia. The court also fined the convict Tk 20,000, in default, to suffer three years more RI.
